Exploring Paths to Empathy in the Educational Space
Thursday, November 14, 2024, 11am-12pm CST
Exploring Paths to Empathy in the Educational Space is a guided, group exploration into how we can (and currently do) bring empathy into our teaching and learning experiences. We will visit different aspects of empathy in action in the teaching space, including reflecting on feedback and modeling empathy. Everyone has their own unique brand of empathy that they bring to the table, and this workshop helps to highlight this and show how it can be incorporated into authentic teaching experiences.
Brave Spaces & Charged Topics
Thursday, February 27, 2025, 11am-12pm CST
Conversations surrounding topics commonly deemed "difficult"and “uncomfortable” are often avoided or not supported. However, creating a culture where people feel encouraged to share their thoughts and lived experiences is vital for employee satisfaction, increased productivity, and an overall positive work environment. In this workshop, we will discuss how to create a brave space versus a safe space in academic and professional settings. We will cover the six pillars of creating a brave space and the positive outcomes for students and employees alike when environments respect and adopt these values.
The on-demand recordings will be included in this course 5 days post-event.
