This presentation focuses on the controversial diagnostic and classification challenges that are encountered in the cytologic diagnosis of cystic head and neck lesions. The discussion will include cytologic differential diagnosis and histologic follow-up of various primary and metastatic lesions. The topics will be illustrated in detail by using examples of various benign and malignant lesions encountered in children and adults. The value of special techniques such as immunohistochemistry will also be discussed. This presentation will also use specific cases to illustrate the educational objectives.
