The ASCP Internship Academy is a comprehensive online course that equips laboratory professionals, educators, and administrators with the tools and guidance needed to design, launch, and maintain a successful internship program. This course provides a step-by-step framework for creating a STEM-based high school or college internship program that strengthens local workforce pipelines and expands awareness of careers in laboratory medicine.
Through interactive lessons, downloadable templates, and practical examples, participants will learn how to:
- Secure institutional approval and identify funding strategies.
- Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and DEI initiatives.
- Define intern responsibilities, onboarding requirements, and evaluation methods.
- Promote and sustain internship programs that enhance recruitment and workforce diversity.
Participants will have access to fully customizable templates and documentation, including internship applications, schedules, evaluation forms, and promotional materials—everything needed to implement a compliant, high-impact program.
Upon completion, participants will be prepared to launch a sustainable internship model that meets educational and regulatory standards while supporting the next generation of laboratory professionals.
