Autoverification brings to the laboratory a host of benefits including, but by no means limited to: increased patient safety, boosted efficiency, cost savings, flexibility in the face of staff shortage, and heightened job satisfaction.
This presentation maps out the groundwork on how a clinical laboratory can complete implementation of autoverification in their laboratory, with particular consideration toward regulatory agency compliance. Several questions are considered, from the perspective of a laboratory, including: How do I test an autoverification algorithm? How do I minimize system downtime for testing? How do I validate my system? How do I draft a production implementation plan? How does a typical go-live play out? How do I spot check and monitor after launch? How do I document for inspection?
