Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· identify the common presenting laboratory findings in neonates with transient abnormal myelopoiesis associated with Down syndrome (TAM-DS);
· recognize the characteristic immunophenotype of blasts in TAM-DS;
· identify the mutation required for TAM-DS to occur;
· recognize clinical symptoms predictive of poor survival in TAM-DS; and
· formulate an appropriate differential diagnosis in a neonate with leukocytosis.
