Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· describe the signs and symptoms of vasovagal reaction categories;
· identify the blood donors who are most likely to experience a vasovagal reaction;
· describe steps to minimize the occurrence and severity of a vasovagal reaction during blood donation;
· take appropriate actions when a donor is experiencing a vasovagal reaction; and
· share appropriate postdonation care instructions with a blood donor following a vasovagal reaction.
