Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· identify clinical indications for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) testing;
· discuss tests used in the differential evaluation of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV);
· identify the types of immunoassays used in the detection of ANCA;
· describe the performance characteristics of the immunoassays for detecting ANCA; and
explain key differences in algorithms for the evaluation of AAV.
