· describe the vital role of infection prevention and control and following standard precautions in phlebotomy practice when dealing with potential bloodborne pathogens;
· list the appropriate steps to collect accurate blood cultures based on the latest knowledge;
· identify possible causes for contamination of blood cultures during collection; and
· discuss at least 3 important new behaviors for safe, quality blood culture collection. |
