Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· explain the pertinent pathologic findings of acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis (APIGN);
· discuss the different pathologic and clinical subtypes of APIGN;
· compare the clinical presentations and clinical courses of pediatric and adult PIGN;
· evaluate the pertinent pathologic and clinical features that help differentiate APIGN from other glomerular diseases in the differential diagnosis;
· develop a differential diagnosis for the different glomerular diseases that are associated with syphilis infection; and
· develop an assessment plan for pertinent laboratory assays that help in diagnosis of APIGN.
