Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· recognize the clinical and laboratory presentation of anti–glomerular basement antibody (anti-GBM) disease in different age groups;
· describe the characteristic features of anti-GBM disease on a kidney biopsy, variant forms, and differential diagnosis;
· explain the proposed pathogenic mechanisms of anti-GBM disease;
· describe the features and potential significance of other autoantibodies commonly found in patients with anti-GBM disease, at and preceding diagnosis; and
· discuss treatment and outcomes for anti-GBM disease.
