Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· evaluate a transfusion reaction with pulmonary symptoms;
· apply current diagnostic criteria for transfusion-associated circulatory overload (TACO) in a suspected transfusion reaction;
· apply proposed redefined diagnostic criteria for transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) in a suspected transfusion reaction; and
· interpret laboratory testing results performed as part of a TRALI investigation.
