Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
·         identify histologic correlates of glomerular disease in the setting of sudden-onset nephrotic syndrome;
·         discuss the differential diagnosis of diffuse podocytopathy in the clinical workup for nephrotic syndrome;
·         establish the diagnosis of minimal change disease utilizing light microscopy findings, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy;
·         explain the clinical manifestations, treatment, and prognosis of minimal change disease; and
·         discuss new advances in a novel autoimmune etiology for podocytopathy.
