Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· recognize the general clinical presentation of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL);
· establish a working differential diagnosis of LBCLs following an initial laboratory investigation;
· identify key morphologic findings in a case of LBCL;
· describe the morphologic and phenotypic profile of malignant cells in T-cell/histiocyte–rich LBCL (THRLBCL);
· order the correct ancillary studies in cases of suspected B-cell malignancy; and
· formulate a plan to incorporate rare entities, such as THRLBCL, into routine workup of hematologic malignancy evaluation.
