Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· describe the histopathologic and immunophenotypic characteristics of mature plasmacytoid dendritic cell proliferation (MPDCP) associated with myeloid neoplasm;
· discuss the prognosis and treatment options for MPDCP associated with myeloid neoplasm;
· develop differential diagnoses for MPDCP with associated myeloid neoplasm and blastic PDC neoplasm;
· discuss the newly proposed subtype of acute myeloid leukemia with PDC differentiation; and
· identify the reactive PDC proliferation associated with reactive conditions such as Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, Castleman disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
