· explain the clinical presentation and prognosis of T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL);
· recognize the microscopic features of T-PLL in the blood, bone marrow, and skin biopsy;
· describe the characteristic phenotypic and genotypic profiles of T-PLL;
· discuss the role of genetic tests, such as cytogenetics, fluorescence in situ hybridization, and molecular genetic tools, in the diagnostic evaluation of T-cell lymphoid neoplasms involving the bone marrow and blood; and
· discuss the top differential diagnoses of mature T-PLL.
