Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· describe the typical clinical presentation of patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) – associated vasculitis;
· identify the most likely antibodies associated with different syndromic forms of ANCA-associated vasculitis;
· recognize the pathologic pattern of injury typical of renal involvement by ANCA vasculitis;
· describe why medical community does not currently favor the use of eponym for granulomatosis with polyangiitis; and
· describe the historical methodology and current recommended strategy to test for ANCA.
