Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· recognize different sources of glandular cells in Papanicolaou-stained samples;
· identify pitfalls of glandular lesions in cervical cytology;
· appreciate cytomorphologic features of invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) in conventional smear vs Papanicolaou-stained liquid-based cytology sample;
· differentiate other common as well as uncommon abnormalities in cervical cytology samples that can mimic ILC; and
· apply immunochemical markers to differentiate cervical from extracervical lesions such as ILC.
