· explain the importance of fine-needle aspiration in the diagnosis of masses in anatomically challenging sites;
· describe the clinical and cytologic features of chordoma;
· differentiate this entity from benign and other malignant neoplasms that show similar morphologic profiles;
· select appropriate immunohistochemical stains for distinguishing this entity from other neoplasms in its differential diagnosis; and
· identify the challenges associated with the treatment of chordoma and advancements in therapy.
