Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
· discuss the epidemiology and typical clinical presentation of adult cystic nephroma;
· describe the radiographic, gross, and microscopic findings of adult cystic nephroma and the immunostains that can be used in making the diagnosis;
· describe the genetic expression profiles common to adult cystic nephroma and mixed epithelial and stromal tumors (MEST);
· discuss considerations in the differential diagnosis of adult cystic nephroma;
· compare and contrast MEST and pediatric cystic nephroma; and
· discuss the treatment and prognosis of adult cystic nephroma.
